Q. What is OPC DRUM?
Ans. OPC stands for Organic Photo Conductor or Organic Photoreceptor and depending on its shape it can be classified into drum or belt. OPC Drum is a core part for laser printer or copying machine and it is a part, which enables actual printing by transforming electric signal into static electric image.

Q. What is the Role of OPC Drum?
Ans. CTL Layer (4) located at outermost side of OPC Drum is charged to -600 by means of Corona Wire or PCR. To drum charged with 600V laser beam (5) is applied. Laser beam (5) applied to drum passed through transparent CTL layer (4) and arrived at CGL layer (3) and the part to which laser beam is applied comes to have electronic polarity. Electric hole ((+) round form) being produced at that moment moves to CTL layer charged with -600V and (-) electric charge moves to earthed aluminum substrate Date image is formed at OPC drum surface and from magnetic roller toner particle (-polarity) sticks to OPC drum surface in a form identical to the date image. At that time the part to which laser beam is applied (relative + polarity) toner particle (-polarity) get stuck. Finally toner particles that are stuck to surface of Drum are transferred to paper by means of transfer roller.
